Faith In?

This has been an interesting week, COVID19/Coronavirus has taken over out attention and is seemingly causing mass hysteria. As a country we have faced our fair share of epidemics, however, for many of us, this is our first taste of a pandemic historically unfolding. During uncertain times we tent to reach out and our faith is tested. Seasons like this can cause our faith to hit peaks and valleys at this time it is important to remember who we have faith in. God’s grace is enough for this and all situations just as it has been throughout history. My phone is filled with text messages about all kinds of historical references to other disasters. Now when I open these messages, I find myself saying what a good God we serve; to have brought us through all those previous tragedies. And mankind is still standing stronger and wiser for having come through them. Psalm 8:4-9 states “what is man that you are mindful of him the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You made him rule over the works of your hands you put everything under his feet, all flocks and herds and the beast of the field. The birds of the air and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. O Lord our Lord how majestic is your name in all the earth.” So, the next time we are faced with the question where is God? The answer still is, He is here with us. As with all good relationships, we must take the time to get to know Him and develop, our personal relationship with Him prior to times of crisis. Then we will understand that the nature of God is to take care of His children and never forsake them no matter where they are in life personally or collectively as a community.
