Psalm 18:16-19 He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of the deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.
This passage of scripture came alive for me tonight as I drove home from work, on a familiar road, I was a bit tired and the road is not well lit. I was speeding trying to get home and within a split second before I knew it I was inches away from a two-car accident in the middle of the road, I got my presence of mind quick enough to swerve the car just in the nick of time. When I pulled away from the accident my heart was racing when I realized what could have happened to me tonight. As I continued to drive, I was shaken and took several deep breaths to regain my composure. I pulled over for gas and just praised God. When I got out of the car to pump the gas, I noticed that I was in pain from the tightening of the seatbelt. When I felt the pain my first thought was what a gracious God, we (I) serve thank you, Lord. This was truly a but God moment one of many. As I am writing the pain is evident, however because of His grace I can feel it. Some may call it luck; I call it a miracle because I know that as it states in Psalm 18 “He reached down from on high and took hold of me” tonight. In the blink of an eye life as I knew it could have been altered or over. I had to stop and ask myself are you ready to meet Him. I know there are things in my life that I would do differently but, accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior is not one of them. We think we have all the time in the world even though we walk around saying how short life is. I don’t think that most of us really have a clue. Tonight could have ended differently. I love the Lord and I thank Him for spearing me. I may not always get it correct but, my heart posture is set on Christ. Let me encourage you, with this scripture in the book of Romans: 12:18 “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Because, of John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
My brothers and sisters, please don’t wait any longer because tomorrow is truly not promised, just call on Him tonight, He is already there, waiting for the call.
