Where do you turn

The Bible provides several examples of people walking their own path, and we also see the faithfulness and love of God that always provides a way back to Him. In Nehemiah 1 we are again reminded of the goodness of God and His provisions as Nehemiah so eloquently, allows his emotions to speak directly to the power of God’s mercy and grace, by reminding Him of His word. One true way to God’s heart is by true repentance and obedience. In Nehemiah 1: 8-9 it states “ Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, if you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.” In life, we will all come to a season where we question who we are? To the point of questioning if we have lost ourselves along the way. One such season came for me when I lost my mother, she was my best friend, my biggest fan, the loudest cheerleader in my life, and then she was gone. Although my life like everyone else was full of ups and downs, somehow my mother always made it okay for me. She was the one that would listen to my endless stories about nothing, she was the one that believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, and she was the one that taught me to be the woman that I am today. I have often said if I could be half the woman my mother was, I would be okay. After her death, I questioned everything I thought I knew including who I am. She didn’t just believe in me she believed in Jesus Christ and she shared this gift with me. She gave me the foundation of Jesus Christ. When it came time for me to choose, I chose Christ. In the seasons of my life where I question who I am, scriptures like Nehemiah 1: 8-9 helps me remember that I chose wisely. So today if you are in a questioning season, stand on this verse and allow the Holy Spirit to speak directly to your heart. With the comfort of knowing that although you may not know the exact path, Christ does, and He will bring you to the place that He has chosen for you.
