“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”- Dr. Maya Angelou

I have a very dear friend that God has allowed me to watch blossom and grow. I will say that she is over forty and extremely beautiful inside and out. She is in a season of discovering her God-given gifts and let me tell you how exciting it is to see this journey. Guided by the hands of God, on Friday, God put a person in her path that could potentially take her to another level. It is wonderful to see her finally accepting her gift of creation. She is a floral extraordinaire. She creates magic with her gift. I have an ongoing struggle to move when God tells me what He wants me to do.

Especially when I deem it to be unrealistic or impossible from looking at my circumstances, this struggle is real for many of us. I am not the only one. If you are in a similar place, I wanted to share a word of encouragement with you and let you know that you are not alone. Watching her journey has given me new hope, and I hope it does the same for someone else. Simply put it is time. Time to believe the word of our creator as stated in Matthew 21: 21-22, “Jesus replied, Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Scary stuff. What if you and I dare to believe in the word of God with our hearts. Could our lives reflect Psalm 37: 4-6 “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord trust in Him, and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn your vindication like the noonday sun.” When God speaks, things do not stay the same. What He is asking is, can you believe even if your situation says something else. Now, this is not for everyone. Some people listen. I will leave with the story of King Hezekiah in Isaiah 38. With an emphasis on verse 4, “Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: Go and tell Hezekiah, this is what the Lord, the God of Your father David, says: I have heard your prayers and see your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.” God’s love and success plan for your life is eternal. There is nothing He will not do for His children.

God loves you, and so do I.
