“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. And there was evening, and there was morning the first day.”-Genesis 1-5. I find it fascinating that the first thing God created was light. When light is shed, it illuminates, and we can clearly see. God was fully aware that His children would need light to navigate through life. It was the first and most important thing. The light of God was a sign that He would always be with us. Below are a few scriptures that shows the light of God in action. Exodus:13-21, “By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in the pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night,” Psalms 27 “The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall, I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?” And John:8-12” When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk-in darkness but will have the light of life.” In Exodus, we experience the power of God’s light by day and night, In Psalms we experience the protective power of God’s light, and In John we meet the redemptive power of God’s light.
One of the things I love about our Father is that He is a planner, many times we do not see the entire picture until God sheds His light on our circumstances. But when we see the outcome, we recognized that only God could do that. When Ruth’s husband died and she left with her mother-in-law, I wonder if she could have imagined a Boaz. When Esther’s parents died, and she was raised by her uncle, I wonder if she could have imagined being Queen Esther and saving her people. When the light of Christ enters your life, it will bring all the pieces together because light allows you to see.
Today let me encourage you, to seek the light of God, and allow His light to illuminate your way as you continue to put one foot in front of the other.
Remember God loves you and so do I.
