Marvin Sapp, one of my favorite recording artists, has a song titled (Praise Him in advance) some of the lyrics to the song are “Praise will confuse the enemy.” This song reminded me of praise. So I found some scriptures about praise, one of the ones that spoke directly to me is in the book of Nehemiah, 9:5-6 “ And the Levites-Jeshu, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah said: “Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.” These scripture verses spoke to me today, they caused me to pause and remember that no matter what is going on in my current circumstances. The Lord gives life to everything, and all He asks for in return is our obedience and recognition through praise. He is always there to fight with us. So, as I stand at another crossroad in life, waiting to see how the Lord will move in my life. I choose to give God praise and I recognize how truly blessed I am to be counted among the children of the Lord. Thank you, Lord, for loving me enough not to leave me in the state that I met you. It is an honor to praise the name of the Lord. Even when the seasons of life look dim. I stand with David in agreement that you are truly my light and my salvation, whom or what life challenges shall, I fear.
I love you Lord, thank you for teaching me how to love, even when I don’t always get it right.
