No Not Guilt....

This week I was reminded that God knows and still chose us human beings. As a believer, I believe one of the tools the enemy uses on us is guilt. When we are riddled with guilt, it can, at times, stop us in our tracks from moving forward. Our thoughts can be used as one of the most targeted and precise weapons to attack our purpose. Our thoughts can make us believe that we are unforgivable when God’s word states in Proverbs 28:13, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” The enemy would like for us to believe that we are bound by our past when the truth is if we continue to relive the past, we are unable to enjoy the future. The choice to hold on to things that are no longer relevant to who we are now and to where we are going gives the enemy a win. I am here to remind you that the victory has been given to God’s children; each of us as followers of Christ has already won. One of the weapons that God has given to his children is each other. And when that connection breaks down, the enemy will gain a foothold in our life, especially when we shut each other out with the thought that no one understands. The guilt complex that we play with ourselves, for example, is not of God. Our God is progressive. He believes in moving forward; that is why He insists on confession and repentance because they equal a discarding of the past. By choosing God’s method, we are enabled to walk into our future as our true self, the new creation formed from God’s grace and mercy. So today, when life deals you a hard blow, and you are tempted to go back to comfortable norms, try turning to God and speaking the truth about your feelings so that they don’t keep you bound and accept the forgiveness of Christ. His grace is boundless to us, surround yourself with fellow believers.

Proverbs 27:6 “Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.” A Godly friend is a gift, and they will always point you back to Christ and the true freedom that is wrapped up in His love for you. Today, if you are feeling discouraged by life itself, remember that strength real strength lies in perseverance. Strength and courage do not mean that tears or even fears will not pay a call from time to time, it means that when it does you know where to go to re-center yourself. Read Psalm 23 and allow the words to bring comfort. I leave you with the first verse, “The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.” God is our all in all. Remember when you are weak. He will always be strong. God’s Love is Real, even with all the craziness going on around us in the world today. As believers, we can stand on the truth of Christ because God Knows…
