Learning to let go

Letting go means moving forward, it means that an intentional decision was made to release all negative elements; and replace them with the positive truth of Christ. Although you cannot change the decisions of the past, you can learn from them and not allow your fears, shame, and doubt to continue to steer your life. Granted there were times when we were not in control. 1st Corinthians 13: 11 states “when I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” As an adult, we have an open invitation to join Christ and live our lives as a new creation. Letting go allows us to both give and receive forgiveness when we accept the gift of forgiveness as a lifestyle choice; this gift equals love. In the space of forgiveness is where we learn to love like Christ. Forgiveness also comes with some additional components such as grace, mercy, compassion, and freedom to name a few. The grace of God allows us to use our sufferings and hurt as part of the birthing process of our new life. On the other side of all the circumstances is accepting the love of Christ, He not only laid down His life for you, but He also created that life full of purpose and passion. In the book of Hosea chapter 6:6 we are reminded of this as it states, “For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.” Acknowledging that we were created from a place of love and this place is our natural setting is one of the key foundations for forgiveness. Allowing God to guide you, will provide a fresh viewpoint to understanding your individual self-worth. God is saying my love for you is not only unconditional but, it knows no boundaries, my love for you is from everlasting to everlasting, Revelation 3:20 puts it this way “Here I am I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person and they with me.”

Today is a good day to ask, what must I let go so
