The journey of life can sometimes present challenges and hardships. I am reminded of how truly good God is, and why it is every believer’s mission to share His goodness. In Matthew 19: 25-26 we see the disciples posing a familiar question and a wonderful response from Jesus that helps to strengthen our faith in God. The verses are as follows: “When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying. Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible but with God all things are possible.” This passage of scripture came alive to me when I was in my early twenties and just moved into my first apartment. My job paid just above minimum wage and my check for the month made it possible to pay all the bills with very little leftover for things like food. I would go to work some days hungry. One of my supervisors noticed that during lunches I would just work through them or go outside and sit by myself. He didn’t have a conversation with me about the importance of eating lunch or even try to figure out why I wasn’t eating. He stepped in and did something about it, he would purchase lunch for me whenever we were scheduled together. He saw a need and extended himself. In those moments I experience the goodness of Christ. His actions are a prime example of Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” This impossible situation had a God-size solution. This season of my life was no surprise to God. He had already made a way out; it is times like these that serve as golden nuggets sprinkled in our lives as reminders of God’s love for us.
Today, think about a few of the golden nugget moments sprinkled in your own life when God provided for the impossible.
